Review

“Highly sensitive child may appear shy, timid or introverted, but these traits do not reveal the true essence that lies beneath them.” - Elaine Aron

Feature

★ Highly Sensitive Child and Highly Sensitive Child: A Handbook for Parents, these two books are recommended to be read in conjunction with each other.

Description

The term "Highly Sensitive" refers to a personality trait discovered and defined by American psychologist Elaine Aron. The original purpose of Elaine's research was to clarify that this trait is not a sign of shyness. A highly sensitive child is born with a greater perception of everything around him. He has profound internal reflection abilities, and he would deliberate before taking actions or making decisions, and work in a well-organized and devoted manner. Meanwhile, he is also compassionate, creative, intelligent and intuitive. However, these traits also have a negative impact: such a huge account of details flooding into his mind to stimulate his nerves may make him feel panicky and uneasy, thus exposing his sensitive and fragile character. Sometimes he behaves shy or withdrawn, because he tries to avoid the bewilderment of such a high-pressure situation.

If you have purchased this book because you suspect your child may be a highly sensitive child, then take the time to read it. This book will give you a gift, because you will learn to understand your child's way of thinking and needs. In the book, Úrsula Perona e provides the medium needed to help us recognize the highly sensitive child and accept and love him unconditionally. Respect his unique traits and nature, and understand what he truly needs for his growth and development without attempting to change or mold him. Be a necessary companion on his journey without saying or doing too much.
