Description

Two friends with revolutionary ideas: Rudi Dutschke and Wolf Biermann. Uschi Obermaier fought against her oppression as a woman and for free love. Rio Reiser created the sound of the squatter movement. David Bowie wrote the anthem of unleashed Berlin, which was musically creative like no other German city. On the other side of the Wall, artists like DEFA director Wolfgang Kohlhaase expanded their scope, while Biermann's expatriation caused the cultural scene to revolt against the SED.

Starting from the epochal year of 1968, Kai-Uwe Merz describes the 1970s based on the eventful life stories of those who made cultural history back then.
