Description
D is for Death is not just a book: it's a captivating and thought-provoking adventure that challenges perceptions and leaves you with a profound appreciation for the one certainty that binds us all – the journey from A to Z, where death becomes a quirky guide through life's mysteries.
After finishing reading the book, the author hopes you can tell the important people in your lives that you love them. Give them a hug. Talk to them about their death and funeral plans. Laugh with them. Cry with them. Walk with them. Be present. Take your dog out even on those dark, dreary days and feel the soft rain on your skin.
Author
A child of the 70s, Sophie Duffy grew up on a diet of Blue Peter and the Wombles. But it’s not all been fun and games. Over the years she has curated a catalogue of loss but her sense of the world being a good place shines through the heartache.
Duffy finds humour and pathos in the mundane and the tragic and is particularly fond of dysfunctional, unconventional families and the complexities of everyday modern life.
As part of Creative Writing Matters, Sophie appraises manuscripts, mentors novelists and helps run the Exeter Novel Prize.
She lives on the Wirral and also writes under the pseudonym Lizzie Lovell.
