Description

It’s 1917, and Doris is a spoilt orphan living with her grandparents in the suburbs of Birmingham. Yet there’s always been something strange about the way everyone treats her. When she discovers that her parents and six siblings are alive and well only streets away, her life is thrown into chaos. Who is she, and why was she given away? Building herself up with more and more lies, she sets events in motion that will take her to Baghdad, then Beirut, and finally back to England in search of who she really is.
