Description
The sun rose, and everything around us glowed with a light that coated the landscape with cheerfulness, spreading first over the peaks, then over the glacier and the snowfields, until it lapped at the two of us sitting on the rock hugging each other.
"How wonderful..." whispered my father. He lay more comfortably on the flat rock and I beside him. Then we fell asleep, as a bright sunny day dawned and the sunlight washed away all the apprehension and desire to flee to the valley.
When I awoke, I had made a decision. My vacation was there.
Some summers are unforgettable. So much happens that when you go back to school in September, you are a different person. For Giorgio it is the summer when he was thirteen years old. He has to spend three months in a mountain hut near La Thuile, in the Aosta Valley, far from the comfort home and the city Turin. Because his father has decided to give up his job in the bank to run the mountain hut, while his mother is going to teach at a French school. Giorgio does not understand: why, all of sudden, do his parents seem to want to change their lives at all costs? Why can't he take it as well as his brother Luca? Most importantly, how will he survive for three months without friends and without Margherita?
Not all questions will be answered at the mountain hut, but new friends, breathtaking views, and exciting adventures are waiting for him in the mountains. And then there is Katina, the mysterious girl with copper-colored curly hair who will break all his certainties....
A tale of friendship, love and courage that takes us through the first changes in the heart of the protagonist, which are often as dizzying as the beautiful alpine landscapes in this story.
