Description

This is a dynamic fantasy adventure, based on the true story of the very first balloon flight in 1783, that was manned by a sheep, a rooster and a duck. Afterwards, the animals were knighted by King Louis XVI as ‘heroes of France’, and lived on Marie-Antoinette’s farm at the grounds of Versailles.

The book created around these historical facts, is about a feisty young sheep named Georgette (‘Joe’) who is banned from the herd after she gets blamed for her mother’s death. Determined to see her mother one more time in the heavens above the sheep-clouds, she teams up with two other misfits: a rooster with a fear of heights and a duck with a lame wing, and together they rise above their challenges to become the heroic crew of the very first balloon flight in 1783 – while trying to outsmart the wolfpack that threatens the herd.
