What kind of life did Ah Ma live before? This has been a question lingering in my mind since the day we first met him.

Recalling when we first found Ah Ma, every time we moved our hands close to his face, he would instinctively squint and dodge, without fail. This led us to wonder, "Was Ah Ma slapped by someone before?" Additionally, when Ah Ma first arrived, he would urinate everywhere due to being in heat and even tore through the screen window at my family home, making us speculate, "Did he run away from home?" These thoughts became the origin of this comic, a story born from that small initial observation.

"I really want to know what happened to him before." I believe this thought resonates with anyone whose pet was once a stray. We often imagine their past experiences, as their stories only begin after meeting us. What they encountered before remains a mystery, fueling endless speculation. One day, it struck me: "Why not draw the story we imagine?" And so, the tale of Ah Ma's life before we met him came to life.

The structure of this comic is based on our understanding of Ah Ma and the actual locations where we met him, combined with real events and a touch of imagination. For example, the three dogs (Little Flower, Little Gray, and Little Black) in the story were real stray dogs that once lived on Yangmingshan. Little Flower, in particular, was a dog that wandered around Chinese Culture University for over a decade. Many alumni from the university might remember him. Years after we graduated, some juniors even created a Facebook fan page for him, titled "Cultural Guardian—Little Flower." Little Flower passed away on April 3, 2018, officially "graduating" from the university.

To blend real events with imagination and ensure a coherent story, we adopted a different approach in the drawing process. From conception to completion, it took over a year. The book's release in 2025 coincidentally marks Ah Ma's 18th birthday (January 7, 2025). This timing wasn't planned but rather a serendipitous coincidence, making it even more meaningful. We dedicate this book to Ah Ma, wishing him continued health and peace, and to all of you who have accompanied him. Thank you, and we hope that after reading this book, your hearts will feel as warm as ours do now.

I am Huang Ama, once a stray for over two years,
until one day, my servants found me on the street and brought me to the palace.
My harem and I are from Taiwan, China.
Since 2011, I have expanded my harem with concubines, princes, and other members,
