Feature
Description
The nineteenth century witnessed the development and consolidation of psychology, perhaps the most controversial, complex, divisive and contentious discipline of all time, but it is also one of the most sobering, compelling and promising of modern science. It has been a long journey of fantasy, discovery and conflict, a fascinating journey worth exploring.
Neuroscientist José Ramón Alonso and psychologist Irene Alonso Esquisabel invite you to embark on a marvelous journey through the human mind and through time. Beginning with the birth of life on Earth and its first cognitive experiences, and continuing with the most avant-garde research and unusual insights into consciousness and brain function. In these words, you will discover the greatest challenge our species has ever faced, the boundless genius and absurdity it has produced, the vast ocean of failed schools of thought and paradigms that have shaken it to varying degrees, and the reality that awaits it on horizon filled with hope and uncertainty.
