★It tells us the deep voice from the heart of animals in the zoo. Visiting a zoo is fun for children and helpful for them to learn about ecology. This story, however, standing at the view of animals, raises an issue that we humans may never think about from a different perspective, which is about animals' right to live and survive. Description

Are zoos for animals or humans?
When children visit animals, we can also guide them to think about the animals' rights to live and survive

This is a mournful song for zoos, speaking out for all animals.
Listening to Leo, the lion in the zoo, telling us about the life in the zoo, and offering mournful advice for his other animal friends:
To the flamingo, he gives the advice that it is necessary to distinguish clearly that dreams and reality are two different things in order to slowly gain wisdom in life.
To the polar bear looking at the door, he advises: Don't have the slightest expectation, I've never seen anyone get out of here in my life.
To admirable meerkats, he laughs at himself: Let humans admire them, by the way laugh at humans' ridiculous behaviors
To parrots practicing the animal parade, he exhorts: Remember the order and never make a mistake or you'll get tired next.
...

The author creates this book from the profound experience of looking into the eyes of gorillas in a zoo more than 20 years ago. She saw gorillas that lost freedom in the zoo, wandering aimlessly in the same place. Their eyes always looking into the distance of the void. Other animal friends in the zoo, like bears, lions, giraffes, leopards and rhinos, were also trapped inside the barred windows without freedom. She hopes that this book would be a tiny force to speak out on their behalf.

The aim to set a zoo and animals' right have received more attention in recent years. Many zoos start to improve their environment. However, the problems such as limited space, animal shows, inhumane management and so on, still deprive most of animals' freedom.

Through this book, it switches people's perspective from customary viewers to animals in zoos and make them think about what animals need for their life? Their demands include a comprehensive environment, space, food, emotions, privacy, habits, socialization, sports and the connection with nature, and many others. If human beings have the right to pursue happiness, why shouldn't our animal friends?
After reading this book, we believe your impression of zoos won't stay at the surface, but will dive deeper with more discussion about life.
