Description

"I don't know my name." The confident and fearless frog, Boss, makes his appearance!
In the prologue, the frog's mother makes a fervent wish: "Please let our son no longer cry on rainy days." Whether her sincerity was recognized or not, the heavens respond with a message that her son's wish will come true if he passes the "long boots test." The story of the son, the frog, begins... He doesn't know why he was left alone in the forest, what his name is, or why he's wearing boots that seem glued on and can't be taken off. Scared of being left alone, he just chases after the grandmother he saved with all his might.
Despite feeling lonely, Boss can talk to people, read quickly, understand others' hearts, and listen attentively. Moreover, when facing various people in the village such as Do-ha, Hee-cheon, and the neighbor's wife, he is never discouraged and is always spirited. He promises to tell his name when he remembers it, tries something when he's curious about its taste, retorts honestly when angered, and initiates conversation when someone looks upset. His bold actions are not disliked because of Boss's pure and uncorrupted heart.
Boss, Hee-cheon, Do-ha, Su-ah... : Each name contains a sincere heart
The name of the son frog, "Boss," is a colloquial term meaning "resolute thoughts, courage," which fits well with the plump and lively image of the frog. Through the mother's voice heard in a dream, Boss remembers his name and is delighted. The grandmother encourages him with a loving heart, saying, "Names contain the heart of the person who gave it. Our Hee-cheon's name was given with the hope that he would live strong and healthy..." Although there are still many parts he can't remember, the frog, named Boss, hopes to meet his mother who gave him this name.
This book includes stories of various characters with different names and personalities. Behind Hee-cheon's jealousy and outbursts is a "tenderness" that braves danger to save a stray cat. Behind Do-ha's feeling down when comparing himself to his proud friend is a "naivety" of a child, and behind the grandmother's anger at the neighbor's wife's presumptuous behavior is a playful "laughter." Author Choi Eun-ok realizes the imagination of children through the character Boss, and this imagination is brought to life in the illustrations by Kim Yu-dae, captivating readers. Young readers who follow Boss's journey will find it hard not to laugh out loud.
The Secret Hidden in the Boots : A story that stimulates children's imagination!
The secret hidden in Boss's boots, which can never be taken off, is not fully revealed in the first volume. They can't be cut off with a sharp knife or forcibly removed by several adults. The only change is that the number 100 written on the bottom of the boots gradually decreases to 99, 98, etc., as Boss empathizes with someone's heart. Will Boss be able to recover all his memories and take off the boots? The story of the daring Boss, who wants to blow bubble gum and fly in the sky, stimulates the imagination of children and what events will unfold in the future is something to look forward to.
