Feature

The new project of Barbascura X, the most followed science communicator in Italy: a book/magazine on science issued every six months directed by Barbascura X. A product that is thorough, over-the-top, and funny, just like its curator. Infographics, illustrations, in-depth articles, and humor to provide a new approach to science.

Description

The first volume of the book/magazine by Barbascura X will probably be entitled “Reproducing Badly” and will deal with sex in every natural environment: from dinosaurs to mammals, from alien life forms to plants. The book/magazine presents a series of in-depth science articles on the topic along with funny counterpoints, illustrations, comic strips, as well as commentaries written directly by Barbascura X.

Author

BARBASCURA X is a chemist, science populariser, theatre performer, writer, author, musician and video-maker. With a degree in organic chemistry and a PhD in green chemistry and production of materials from renewable sources, he has worked in major laboratories across Europe. He has become famous on the web for his column “Scienza Brutta” (Ugly Science), a series of parodic and irreverent pseudo- documentaries in which the lesser-known and shocking aspects of the natural sciences are recounted. Between popularisation and satire, he has brought science to theatres, conferences and various television programmes. For his unusual way of dealing with these topics, he has been called the punk of science popularisation.
