Description

The protagonist of the story is Lera Ushakova, a high school student in Moscow. One day, she unexpectedly receives a mysterious gift - the ability to communicate with the deceased. However, this ability comes at a cost. When she encounters a female ghost in her apartment building, her peaceful life is completely disrupted. The ghost asks Lera to help her complete an unfinished task, and after some hesitation, Lera decides to accept the request. Little does she know that this decision will plunge her into an adventure that transcends life and death.
As the story unfolds, Lera's friends inadvertently enter a mysterious world while using a mirror for divination, and Lera herself is pursued by malevolent spirits. She must find a solution in this dangerous alternate world, save her friends, and fulfill the ghost's request. This is a story about courage, friendship, and justice, where ordinary teenagers suddenly find themselves able to restore justice for those who seem to no longer need it and can't change anything - the dead.

Author

Yevgenia Kretova (born in 1979) is a Russian best - selling author of young adult fantasy! She is a dynamic prose writer and a science fiction novelist! She has won the Russian "Manuscript of the Year" National Literary Award, the New Children's Book Award, the Children's and Young Adult Prose Competition, the Electronic Character Literary Award, and has been nominated for the Reader's Choice Award and the Russian Detective Award!

Born in Prague, Yevgenia Kretova is the daughter of a military officer and has lived in various cities around the world, such as Tbilisi, Moscow, Blagoveshchensk (my mother is from Blagoveshchensk), Akhalkalaki, and Nerungri, each of which has become a part of her. Before becoming a writer, she worked as a lawyer. Her legal experience and extensive travel have provided her with meticulous thinking and extraordinary imagination! Her writing style excels in depicting alternate universes, the intricate interplay of mysticism and realism, Slavic historical fantasy, detective, and science fiction novels.

In 2021, her work won second place in the "Send Your Story to Space" competition, held in honor of the 60th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's flight, jointly organized by the Russian Federal Space Agency and LitRes, the largest electronic and audiobook publishing platform in Russia and the CIS countries. Her work was sent to the International Space Station aboard the Progress cargo spacecraft in October 2021! The jury for this competition included internationally renowned science fiction writer Sergey Lukyanenko, Russian cosmonaut Ivan Vagner, and heads of several large publishing houses and magazines in the "Young Adult Books" and science fiction genres! Her works have been recommended by several well - known Russian media outlets, including TASS, Amur Pravda, Russian Gazette, Russian ELLE girl, Glagol, and Letidor! In 2020, Yevgenia Kretova was named one of the ten most popular young adult authors in Russia by Esquire!
