Born on April 2, 1961, in Rodez, France, she currently resides in Paris, France. She is a French writer, the author of children's literary novels and picture books, and a playwright.
From a Bachelor of Science to a Master of Arts, from a high school science diploma to a mastery of literature, from the dilapidated alleys of Rodez to the city walls of Carcassonne, Cécile Rumigny's life is diverse and full of adventures. She took drama courses and joined theater groups, serving as an assistant director, a stage manager, and a writer. Her first book, "The Desert School", was published by French publisher Magnard in 2004. This children's literary work received the French Children's Book "Le Prix des Incorruptibles” and sold over 100,000 copies. To date, she has published nearly 40 children's picture books and literary novels. Her work, "My Sadness is Like an Elephant", has been introduced and published domestically.

Before becoming an illustrator in 2005, she studied at the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design in Saint-Étienne, France, and the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg. She works for publishing houses (Baia, Nathan, Milan, Larousse, etc.) and media magazines (Magazine Littéraire, Agneau Fanatique, etc.). She currently resides in Strasbourg, France.
