Description

At the beginning of book 2, our caterpillar gets out of its cocoon and we see that she has turned into a beautiful butterfly. But she is trapped inside Ayşe’s apartment and wants to go out. Just as she was walking around and meeting different doors in the first book, this time she flies around and meets windows.
First, she meets the window of an apartment, which reveals all the shops in the neighborhood. The butterfly fancies the florist, flies over there and sleeps on a flower.
Ayşe wakes up to see that her caterpillar has left her room and she is very sad. In order to cheer her up, her mother decides to take Ayşe to her grandparents’ farm. Before they start the journey, they stop by the florist and Ayşe buys some flowers for her grandmother. On these flowers or beautiful butterfly is sleeping!
When the butterfly wakes up she meets the window of a car. What the window shows keeps changing so our butterfly is a bit baffled. After a long journey they arrive at the farm and this time our butterfly is yet again trapped inside the farmhouse. Here she meets the window of a farmhouse, which reveals all the farm animals behind it.
Then Ayşe’s grandfather comes in with a vessel of milk. He is going to take the milk to an ice-cream shop by the sea, so he takes Ayşe with him. Our clever butterfly makes a plan and hides inside the vessel. She thinks she can fly and be free once they go out of the farmhouse, but unfortunately they close the vessel firmly with a lid. All together they go to the ice-cream shop where the butterfly meets this shop’s window. It reveals a beautiful beach and here children can learn words about the beach such as seagull, pebble, dolphin etc.
This time the window is open, so our butterfly can finally be free. She bids farewell to Ayşe, saying that a butterfly has limited time on earth, so she needs to go out and explore it while she can.
She is a happy and a free butterfly at last…
