Description

In the winter of 1838, Frederic Chopin, his sentimental partner and her two children took a boat called "El Mallorquín" from Barcelona to Mallorca.
They were attracted by the beauty and tranquility of the island and came to look for a mild climate that is conducive to Chopin's health. But Mallorca is a humid island in winter, and the rain has never stopped that year. Not only did Chopin's health fail to improve, it worsened. They settled in the Fadmosa monastery in Kartesas, which is undoubtedly a place of inspiration for poetry, where Chopin reviewed and completed his "Prelude No. 7", Op.28. Liszt commented: "The variety of these pieces of music and the special taste that Chopin appreciates are admirable... They all have the unique freedom and grandeur of works of art.
The story of "Chopin's Big Secret" is inspired by Chopin's trip to Mallorca and tells a series of events on the freighter "El Mallorquín" in a very interesting way.
The CD accompanying the story contains a compilation of Majorca-related piano works, as well as some of his famous waltz. All works are performed by Paul Badura-Skoda, one of the greatest pianists of our time.
It is definitely the best way for children to learn about Chopin.
