Susy Zanella, born in 1978 in Ferrara, began drawing from an early age by depicting the faces of her figures upside down. Already by then she was publishing comic books to share with her friends. She pursued her passion for drawing, attending the Dosso Dossi Art School of Ferrara and later the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, with many illustration courses to follow. Today she is an author and illustrator who has participated in and won numerous illustration
competitions, the most significant being second prize at the XI Lucca Junior Competition for Cartoonists and Illustrators and, for two consecutive years, first prize at the Librifattiamano competition in Pieve Santo Stefano, as well
as many others. She collaborates with important Italian publishing houses, each project an adventure, with the most recent taking her to the moon, with the book I want the Moon written by Andrea Valente and Umberto Guidoni for Editoriale Scienza.
