Description

It’s about fertilizing with your eyes what happens in your daily life, in your routine. It is about learning immediately how to cultivate wonder and re-enchant the world. It is a matter of feeling more intensely our own life, which is a neverending one...

This is a manual, but at the same time it is as far from a manual as it can be. It is a method but also a game; a popular essay but also a divination handbook; a rigorous study but also a fluid succession of chapters, strung one after the other like pearls in a necklace. It is an incomplete map to enter the labyrinth of the world. A compass that does not point north. A road that leads nowhere. A series of pages bound and held together by a cover, but also a set of botanical instructions and an exercise in imagination. All with one purpose: to teach you how to bloom.

Taking a cue from the oldest schools, this multifaceted essay shows us how philosophy can still powerfully impact our lives. Not philosophy considered as an intellectual amusement, but as a serious game conducted on our existence and our path. Philosophy is a bridge to cross and not a house to live in, an art of living harmoniously, an education and training of oneself, to blossom into our most composite and true self, to find our place in the world.

Author

ANDREA COLAMEDICI and MAURA GANCITANO are two philosophers, and the creators of Tlon, philosophy school, publishing house and theater bookshop, where they organize workshops of philosophy in Italy and abroad. Together they wrote Lezioni di meraviglia e Tu non sei Dio: fenomenologia della spiritualità contemporanea. Their philosophical outreach activity is full range: on their very popular social media pages, they speak about society and vocations, talent and community.
