Description

Nonviolent communication is a simple but very effective practice. It is based on the idea that humans share common needs that govern our behavior, and that violence is an action we use to wrongly satisfy those needs. If we know how to identify our needs, the needs of others, and the feelings that come with them, we can achieve authentic communication and more harmonious relationships.

How do we express our feelings in the face of conflict?
What are the needs behind these emotions?
What do we expect from ourselves and others?
How do those around us feel about ourselves?
By identifying needs, using listening skills, and expressing skills, NVC creates an environment of empathy and sincerity that helps bring us closer to each other and transform our relationships into what we truly desire, whether at home or at work.

Professor Pilar de la Torre, an undisputed pioneer in the field of nonviolent communication, pours her 20 years of experience into this book, proposing the basic concepts of nonviolent communication, and enumerating various practical case studies for integrating nonviolent communication into our daily lives.
