Review

Children will learn several facts about the small rodents simply by reading along and seeing what these cute creatures do during the day, as well as their nocturnal activities. As a bonus, there is a two-page spread at the back of the book with facts about porcupines. --Feathered Quill Book Reviews

This is a beautiful, charming, engaging and educational book! I have read every one of Ms. Wilbur's books and given as gifts to many friends and family. Each is even better than the one before if that's possible. Not only do children love them, read over and over, but they LOVE everything about the books and come away learning something they wouldn't have otherwise. And who would ever think a porcupine could be a charming, lovable creature! I do now. Story is fantastic and illustrations perfect for the story. I highly recommend this book.

I loved this book! This is an adorable book that blends factual information about porcupines into a lovely story about a baby porcupine who gets separated from his mom, meets a wolf, and comes out as the victor. It is not scary, but there is enough plot to hold the attention of small people.---Amazon Five Star review

The illustrations are lovely, and the writing is well done. I especially liked that the author was able to describe how porcupines survive without it turning into the standard fact filled non-fiction book. At the end there is a double page spread with more facts about porcupines to help kids (and parents) learn a bit more.---Amazon Five Star review

And who better than mama porcupine to remind her little one of all the wonderful physical characteristics that make him unique, as she helps him explore his world.
