Marie Curie-Skłodowska was one of the most brilliant scientists in history and a pioneer in every possible way: she was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize; the first to be a professor at the Sorbonne; the first person to be awarded twice with the Nobel Prize and, to this day, the only one who has achieved it in two different scientific areas. Despite all this recognition, she was never allowed to enter the French Academy, an obvious case of sexist discrimination. However, today we know that the importance of all her contributions to society is incalculable.
