Feature
- Conflicts, opportunities and solutions in dealing with large predators
- A scientifically based presentation of this adversarial topic
Description
The rapid comeback of the wolf, lynx and bear in our agricultural landscape has taken experts, too, by surprise. Today, in Germany, Austria and Switzer-land, there are populations of wolves and lynxes, and bears repeatedly cross the borders from Italy and Slovenia. This inevitably leads to conflicts: How should we best deal with these large predators? In this book, nine authors examine the biology, ecology and management of the animals from a sound scientific basis. The conflicts arising between hunting and agriculture are identified, and solutions are put forward. What are the possibilities, and what are the limits of management? The aim is a rational approach to the discussion and intelligent solutions for all those who are involved with the topic.
