João was born in a small town in São Paulo, where his Spanish grandfather had just arrived in Brazil. The atmosphere of Literature slowly changed his life when he was a little boy, his father told him stories, which he enjoyed listening to so much that he later began to write his own stories. Alexandre is an illustrator and author of children’s books, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in São Paulo. He has worked for a long time as an advertising art director and developing book covers and editorial projects. Since 2007 he has been fully dedicated to illustration and children’s literature. He is also the author of the book “The Universe in a Matchbox” published by Panda books.
