Review

«Emma is a great character: she gets straight into the heart of the reader. Her voice is authentic, clever and ironical. From the very first pages, I wanted her to be my best
friend. Anna Chiatto is an outstanding writer: she is able to make you laugh and cry, and definitely she knows how to make dreams come true. »
- Francesca Lang, Fiction Editor Piemme

Description

Emma doesn’t believe in love. Perhaps because in the past it played games with her too many times. Having decided to forge a career for herself, Emma has learned how to transform her cynical opinion of emotions into a profession: that of wedding planner. Of course, the apprenticeship wasn’t easy - submitting to the beck and call of a crazy person who wanted to ‘mould’ her but instead had made her pay bills, collect her clothes from the dry cleaner’s and attend to every need of Fru and Fru, his two scrumptious chihuahuas. But now Emma has her own business, and her dream is almost a reality. Every little setback - mostly as a result of difficulties arising from couples with out-of-the-ordinary requests - a medieval wedding, or a vegan one, one with a gilded carriage with shuttered windows pulled by horses across the sand - is accompanied by the unforgettable words ‘I’d like something simple...’ Emma, however, hasn’t legislated for the possibility that a mysterious and irresistible man might appear in her own - apparently perfect - life, a man capable of toppling her own fervently held distrust of love.
