Author

Dr. Linda Foulds-House
Dr. Linda Foulds-House is an internationally renowned consultant psychotherapist, a pioneering occupational therapist specializing in psychotherapy, an academic, and a bestselling author based in the United Kingdom. With over 35 years of extensive clinical experience, she is regarded as a pioneer in her field for being among the first to deeply integrate psychological interventions with everyday functional living.
Dr. Foulds-House’s personal journey is itself an inspiring testament to resilience. Born in 1968 into an extremely impoverished family in Liverpool, she endured a challenging childhood and left home at the tender age of 17. Despite such difficult beginnings, she went on to achieve remarkable academic and professional success through sheer determination. Her life story stands as a vivid example of how individuals can overcome adversity, and this personal background has endowed her with profound empathy and compassion in her clinical work with patients.
In terms of academic qualifications, she is one of the youngest allied health professionals in the UK to have earned both a PhD and a master’s degree—remarkably, she holds two doctoral degrees. These include a Doctor of Medicine focused on child health, awarded in 2001, and a Doctor of Transpersonal Counseling, conferred in 2025. She also holds dual master’s degrees in Health Psychology and Counseling Education, as well as a Master of Science in Metaphysics. Professionally, she is a registered occupational therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council of the UK, a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, and has been honored with the Lifetime Senior Membership—the highest distinction—from the International Association of Psychotherapists and Counselors.
Dr. Foulds-House’s career spans hospitals, clinics, community settings, higher education institutions, and mainstream media. She is the founder and CEO of REMIND Therapy and launched the UK’s first Level 7 diploma program in integrative psychotherapy tailored for occupational therapists. She also serves as a core leader in the mental health division of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists. Her research has been published in high-impact international journals; as early as 1998, her groundbreaking study on supporting adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse was released. In 2015, Newsweek recognized her as a Professional of the 21st Century.
Beyond clinical practice, she has successfully integrated psychology, motor development, and early childhood education. She served as a special series consultant for “Tom Goes Shopping,” a highly acclaimed children’s animated series on BBC CBeebies that received two BAFTA nominations. For this show, she designed bespoke curricula and movement programs aimed at fostering children’s motor skills. The series has been broadcast in over 120 countries worldwide, and her name appears in the acknowledgments of every episode.
In her clinical approach, Dr. Foulds-House is known for her integrative, mind–body therapeutic style. She skillfully employs a diverse toolkit that includes cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-focused interventions such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and flash technique. She specializes in helping children and adults facing trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and developmental coordination disorders, empowering them to regain control of their lives.
