Author
Globally bestselling author with over 10 million copies sold worldwide. Specializes in education, body theory, and communication theory. Born in 1960 in Shizuoka Prefecture. Graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law, and completed doctoral studies at the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Education. Currently a professor at Meiji University's Faculty of Letters.
In 2001, his book Recovering the Sense of Body won the 14th Shincho Gakugei Prize. As an advocate of educational style theory, his representative work Japanese You Want to Read Aloud sold 2.6 million copies and received the 56th Mainichi Publishing Culture Award Special Prize. Since then, he has written numerous books ranging from professional education and Japanese language education to business and communication.
His works include Teacher: The Body as Technique, the Japanese You Want to Read Aloud series, Emotionally Intelligent Expression, What Makes a “Capable Person” Different, The Power of Questioning, The Power of Reading, The Power of Communication, Why People Must Learn, Leadership Is the Power of Language, among others.
