Description

In all vital areas, warning lights are flashing red: climate change, loss of biodiversity, large-scale environmental pollution, unbearable social injustices, constant wars, and the threat of a world war. The list is alarming, and capitalism in its libertarian form condemns us to lurch from one disaster to the next. According to Marc Chesney, economics urgently needs new paradigms and concepts to counter the cynical financial casino economy oligarchy in order to truly promote the common good. There is still time to act to stop the steamroller bearing down on us. His book outlines the solutions to achieve this.

Author

MARC CHESNEY was a full professor and holder of the Chair of Financial Mathematics at the University of Zurich from 2003 to 2024, after previously serving as a professor at HEC Paris. For many years, he has been developing a critical analysis of the financial casino economy, the commodification of nature, and the cozying up of economic circles to the power of money. He is the author of the work "The Permanent Crisis – The Rise of the Financial Aristocracy and the Failure of Democracy," published by Versus in 2019.
