Amily Shen

A full-time illustrator, Amily has collaborated on the publication of numerous children’s books, and her work has been featured in books, newspapers, magazines, and various commercial projects. She previously worked in graphic and web design and also served as a shoe designer. However, she found that she enjoyed drawing far more than designing, relishing the opportunity to capture her imaginative ideas in words and images. As a result, she began creating art in her spare time and sharing her illustrations online.

Amily specializes in digital illustration, hand-drawn line art, and colored-pencil-style creations. Her instructional books, which focus primarily on ballpoint pen sketching—such as “1,000 Cute Patterns ★ The Cutest Way to Draw!” “★ The Sweetest! The Most Glamorous! Over 1,000 Dreamy Patterns ★ The Ultimate Guide to Colorful Ballpoint Pens” and “Drawing Without Fail! A Coloring Activity Book”—have become annual bestsellers in Taiwan, China, South Korea, and Thailand.

In 2015, she published the coloring book “Fantastic Dreams,” which is based on the fairy tale “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.” The entire book features 100% original, hand-drawn artwork, and its international publishing rights have been sold to 16 countries.

In 2018, Amily was honored with an honorable mention at the JIA Japan Illustration Award.
