Description

Jiang Hua is an ordinary doctor working in an urban hospital in China, leading a mundane daily life. In an accident, he accidentally activated a mysterious jade pendant passed down through his family, unlocking a medical inheritance from ancient times. He not only mastered the magical acupuncture technique called "Qingnang Needle" (an acupuncture therapy in traditional Chinese medicine that regulates bodily functions by inserting needles into acupoints, set in this book as a skill with extraordinary healing power) but also gained the special ability of "tempering true qi" (derived from traditional Chinese martial arts and metaphysics, similar to "magical energy" in Western fantasy, which can enhance the effectiveness of medical skills). With these extraordinary abilities, Jiang Hua can easily cure intractable diseases that modern medicine cannot solve, and even pull patients on the verge of death back from the brink.

As his abilities awaken, Jiang Hua’s life trajectory changes completely: he takes in Cheng Ruonan, a homeless woman, and embarks on an interesting yet conflicting cohabitation life; facing the contempt of the cold and arrogant female hospital director, he proves his medical skills time and again with his strength, achieving an "underdog counterattack"; his extraordinary medical skills shock everyone during an emergency rescue at a street car accident, making him famous overnight. Meanwhile, Jiang Hua gradually uncovers his mysterious origins—he is not an ordinary human being, but a "Yinyang Master" with an ancient inheritance (derived from traditional Chinese metaphysics and folk culture, similar to Japanese "Onmyoji" or Western "mages", possessing the ability to communicate with the spirit world and control supernatural powers).

In the main plot of practicing medicine and saving lives, Jiang Hua also gets involved in a series of exciting side events: confronting the "Charitable Gambler" (a mysterious figure who ostensibly engages in charitable causes but actually controls underground forces), challenging the mysterious place known as the "Divine Doctor Tower" (a trial ground gathering the world’s top medical practitioners, similar to the Western "Hall of Heroes"), and facing threats from dark forces led by the "Gun King" who is proficient in "Lion’s Roar" (a special skill in traditional Chinese martial arts that can attack enemies through sound waves). The story intersperses daily life scenes featuring Chinese characteristics such as eating lamb soup and sweet and sour pork ribs (showcasing the real dietary culture of urban China), adding a warm touch of life to the intense medical competitions and power confrontations. With a brisk overall pace and dense satisfying moments, the book allows readers to experience an exciting underdog journey from ordinariness to extraordinariness alongside the protagonist.
