Feature
★Not only a "cloud atlas", but also a practical manual integrating cloud physics, weather science, observation methods and the background of climate change.
Description
Hans introduces over 80 types of clouds, such as cumulus, cirrus, cumulonimbus, stratus, and more, as well as rainbows, aircraft contrails, sun dogs, and other sky phenomena. It is accompanied by over 200 photos and diagrams.
Professor Hans Hollein's work has been tested for 20 years and has now been expanded to include the formation process of cloud phenomena in low-pressure areas.
Author
A renowned German meteorologist, he has long been dedicated to the research of applied meteorology, agricultural meteorology and cloud physics, and has profound attainments in frost protection, micro-meteorological measurement techniques in agriculture, field irrigation modeling and mesoscale weather simulation. He served as an honorary professor at the Technical University of Munich and was active in the German meteorological service and academic circles, committed to presenting complex meteorological knowledge in an accessible and understandable way to both the public and professionals.
He has authored numerous meteorology textbooks and popular science books. His representative work, "Meteorology", has been reprinted many times since its publication. It covers traditional observation methods and modern satellite and radar technologies, and closely combines extreme weather issues under the background of climate change. It has been praised by the official publication of the German Meteorological Service as a "model textbook that combines scientific depth with reading pleasure". In addition, he also participated in the compilation of "The Book of Clouds" (Wolkenbuch), which systematically introduces more than 80 types of clouds and their relationship with weather forecasting. This book has become a classic guide in the fields of natural observation and meteorological education in Germany.
