★First place in the reader vote of the "German Gardening Book Award", and recommended by the Austrian "Gartenbuch Gold".

Description

The summer droughts, prolonged heatwaves and heavy rainfall brought about by climate change call for resource-saving adaptive measures in garden planting and maintenance. Annette Leiper shows you the best examples of modern garden designs that won't succumb in the first heatwave.

Beautiful photos inspire you to create vibrant flower beds with grasses and perennials; proven border schemes make it easy for you to implement them in your own garden. In addition, the practical bonus chapter on how to design a "rain garden" can help you mitigate the impact of summer downpours. With these "heat-tolerant experts" - drought-tolerant perennials, shrubs, trees, ornamental grasses and bulbs - you'll have more time to enjoy your garden rather than being constantly occupied with watering.

Author

Annette Lepple

After completing her studies in English and Romance languages, she moved to Ireland. While restoring her Irish garden, she fell hopelessly in love with the "green passion". She then studied garden design at KLC School of Design in London, graduating with honors and continuing her studies to obtain multiple qualifications, including the RHS Level 2 Certificate in Horticulture. She now lives in both Switzerland and France, working as a freelance designer and garden photographer. Her photographs have won awards in international competitions, and in 2015 she was awarded the "European Garden Photography Award". She is a member of the renowned Garden Media Guild and the Professional Garden Photographers Association. She loves hiking and horseback riding and hopes to spread the "garden virus" to more people!
