Description
Based on medical evidence and the author’s personal experience, this book explains the concept that “improving breathing during sleep can significantly extend healthy lifespan.”
It addresses the issues of bedding that hinder deep breathing and introduces the author’s self-developed “sleeping bedding that promotes deep breathing.” It provides specific guidance on what criteria to use when choosing new bedding and includes a guide to help readers make confident purchases.
It details methods that can be implemented immediately without changing bedding, such as adjusting pillow height and using a towel to improve sleep posture, to achieve an “easy-to-breathe sleep posture” that can be practiced on the same day.
It offers a previously overlooked perspective on “breathing during sleep,” targeting those troubled by insomnia and poor health, such as those who “want to extend healthy lifespan,” “want to fundamentally improve sleep quality,” and “want to eliminate insomnia and chronic fatigue,” written in an easy-to-understand manner. With physician review.
Author
President and Representative Director of ToraTani Co., Ltd.
Born in Ishikawa Prefecture in 1950. After graduating from the Department of Chemical Engineering (now Department of Chemical Systems Creation) at Doshisha University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering, he worked in the chemical industry before joining the underwear manufacturing company “Osaka Sewing.” He officially entered the manufacturing field, using three-dimensional structural design techniques to develop numerous underwear products. In 2005, he established “ToraTani Co., Ltd.” The “ToraTani 3C Shorts” series, utilizing three-dimensional cutting technology, has sold over 5 million units. In his early 60s, due to his own insomnia and atrial fibrillation, he noticed the significant impact of unconscious breathing, especially “sleep breathing quality,” on health. During his attempts with various health methods and bedding, he discovered the structural issue that “bedding body pressure hinders breathing.” After five years of independent trial and error and patent applications, he developed the world’s first sleep-promoting bedding, “ToraTani Good Circulation Bedding.” He obtained five patents in Japan in 2023 and applied for international patents in 2025.
He is currently dedicated to the lifelong mission of “extending healthy lifespan through breathing and sleep,” widely disseminating the “rediscovery of breathing” to society through product development, lectures, and writing activities.
