Author

Tuğba Eray Biber

Born in Istanbul in 1981, she graduated from the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Mimar Sinan University in 2003. That same year, she enrolled in the Master’s program in History at the Institute of Social Sciences of Mimar Sinan University. In 2004, she was appointed as a Research Assistant in the Department of History, specializing in the History of the Turkish Republic, at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. She completed her Master’s degree in 2006 with a thesis titled “The Eastern Black Sea During the National Struggle.”

In 2013, she earned her Ph.D. in the History of the Turkish Republic from the Institute of Turkology at Marmara University with a dissertation titled “Greek Activities in the Black Sea Region (1914–1923).” That same year, she was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. She currently holds the position of Associate Professor at the same university, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses on the Republican era. Her research focuses on the National Struggle period, the Black Sea region, the Pontus issue, Turks in Western Thrace, and the histories of World War I and World War II. She is married and a mother of two children.
