Description

Gabriel dances merrily around the kitchen, singing and baking cookies. Preparations for Christmas are in full swing; all that’s missing is the Christmas tree. While Gabriel is in the midst of a nap, something tickles his nose quite vigorously. Suddenly, the entire den is covered in stardust. Where did it come from? In the moment the mystery is solved, all of Mole’s plans are turned upside down, and his life takes an unexpected turn. A heartwarming tale of the irreplaceable closeness of friends and family.

Author

Alexandra Natalie Zaleznik is one of the most notable new talents in Slovenian children's literature in recent years. Born in Ljubljana in 1992, she graduated from the local art academy's illustration department. She is active in both picture books and young adult novels as both a writer and an illustrator. The most distinctive feature of her works is the integration of delicate emotional narratives with fairy-tale-like visual language. Besides Slovenia, her books have been published in Germany, Croatia, Poland, China, South Korea and other places.

Andrea Gregorič is a new-generation Slovenian illustrator of picture books and children's poetry, born in 1991 in Kranj, graduated from the Department of Visual Communication at the University of Ljubljana's Faculty of Arts. Her works are known for their "lightweight collages + low-saturation digital coloring", often blending the four seasons of the Slovenian mountains and forests, folk tales, and contemporary childhood emotions in the same picture.
