Review

Author Kaori Tsukino skillfully blends elements that make children jump with joy, and the spell "Abracadabra Tablet!" is particularly irresistible to chant out loud. The characters drawn by illustrator Atsushi Ishiyama have lively and adorable expressions, and the guide genie Tabu is especially charming—it always has a sour face but is endearingly cute, so pay more attention to it! The tablet that arouses children's curiosity in reality can inspire children to think through this story: How can we use technology safely? And what new possibilities can we create? This young fairy tale is especially suitable for young elementary school children to read independently.
— Tomoe Akiyama (Picture Book Navigation Editorial Department)

The title piqued my curiosity, so I picked it up and read it.
The story takes place in a photography class using a tablet. When the mischievous Xiao Taro secretly takes unflattering photos of his classmates, a magic lamp suddenly appears from the tablet... Although the out-of-control magic is a cliché, the design using the tablet as a medium is full of contemporary flair. The content is very suitable for children who are addicted to electronic devices and usually do not read books.

Description

New student Xiao Yu always has an expression of utter boredom. Naughtly Xiao Taro uses the mysterious app "Magic Spellboard" to play pranks on Xiao Yu: making the schoolyard statues dance, turning chalk into flying dragonflies, transforming the hallway into an ice rink... But Xiao Yu remains oblivious to these pranks, always staring at the ground. At this moment, the app guide Tabu suggests, "Shall I help you think of a new prank?" What prank will Tabu plan!?
