*Novoland (Chinese: 九州; pinyin: Jiǔ Zhōu, meaning "Nine Provinces") is founded in 2001 by 7 main authors (along with many other authors who aren't as famous), pioneered China's first shared fantasy universe with 9 provinces, 6 races (e.g., Yi [Winged Tribe], Kufai [Giants]), and an 8,000-year dynastic timeline rooted in Confucian ethics and Daoist cosmology.
Basically it can be considered as the Chinese equivalent of Tolkien's Legendarium.
As of now, it consists of over forty books by seven main authors, plus seven television series and four films based on one or more of the novels, most of which are very popular in China.
All of them are set in the same universe: the titular Novoland, which is divided into the Eastern Land and the Eight Tribes.
The stories span over 10,000 years divided into ten eras and sixteen dynasties.
Description
Behind them lies an existence transcending the mundane—Dragon's Lair Pavilion.
Legend has it that as humans craved to know the essence of the world yet feared losing it, the dragons built the Dragon's Lair Pavilion.
As the chronicler of time, the Dragon's Lair Pavilion sees the truths of Novoland flow uneasily through the quills of its disciples, year after year, age after age, both heroes and demons may find all answers...
