Since opening his practice in 2001, he has passionately treated patients but recognized the limitations of modern medical drug therapies, which often only alleviate symptoms without addressing the root causes of disease. During his deep reflection, he was drawn to functional medicine—a discipline that takes a holistic approach to patients' lives and normalizes bodily functions. As of 2024, he has been caring for and treating patients with functional medicine for 15 years.
He graduated from Dongguk University College of Medicine and earned a Doctor of Medicine degree in Preventive Medicine from Dongguk University Graduate School, where he also qualified as a Preventive Medicine Specialist. He further completed studies at the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
He has held positions as a Professor at Dongguk University College of Medicine and a Professor at Dongguk University Medical Center's Health Promotion Center. He has also served as a Lecturer and Executive Director of the Korean Association of General Hospital Physicians. He is a full member of the Korean Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Clinical Immunology, the Korean Academy of Pediatric Allergy and Respiratory Disease, the Korean Society of Vitamin Research, and the Korean Society for Functional Medicine. He has been awarded the Korean Society of Preventive Medicine's "Academic Award for Barrier Heterogeneity."
