Description

Author

Nikolai Nikolayevich Gorkavy (b. 1959) – world-famous astrophysicist and cosmologist, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, author of over 100 scientific papers and numerous science and sci-fi books for adults and children. Graduated Chelyabinsk State University (1981), Ph.D. Moscow State University (1990). At 30 he became the youngest Soviet State Prize laureate for predicting Uranian satellites. Since 1998 he has worked at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, collaborating with Nobel laureate John Mather. Asteroid 4654 Gorkavy is named in his honor.
