★Through entertaining text and illustrations, this book explains the functions of a publishing house, the industrial process of making books, and the various parts of this beloved item.

Description

How does a book come to life? Who are the people who work behind it? Packed with puns and wordplay, this funny illustrated book will explain children what happens in a publishing house and how books are made, from writing it to advertising it.

Each page invites children to look for a specific animal in a specific part of the book, engaging them in a fun and educational game that will allow them to learn the names of new animals, as well as of the elements that make up the very book they are reading.

Author

Sofia Mariutti is a strange creature, a mixture of dog, giraffe and zebra: she writes, translates and edits books. She is the author of the books of poetry A orca no avião (Patuá, 2017) and Abrir a boca da cobra (Círculo de Poemas, 2023), as well as the illustrated Vamos desenhar palavras escritas?, along with Yara Kono
(Companhia das Letrinhas, 2022). She has a master’s degree in German Language and Literature from the University of São Paulo (USP). She loves playing with words.

Vitor Rocha is an illustrator and designer. A lion with an ant’s feet, or perhaps an ant with a lion’s tail. He graduated from the Panamericana School of Art and Design. He studied Language and Literature at the University of São Paulo (USP) and received a federal government scholarship to study at Sorbonne Université, where he completed his bachelor’s degree. He likes to wander about exploring new places and drawing people and animals.
