Description

The sudden irruption and rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) has generated as much passion as controversy, causing concern among people who do not have specific training. Any technological innovation can cause this first effect, so the aim of this book is to dilute it, explaining in a simple and accessible way what exactly AI is and which applications are most useful in the day-to-day life of any user.
Starting with a study of its origins, we will understand what tools AI uses and how it has revolutionised our world, providing practical help in education, healthcare, finance, mobility and transport, leisure and the arts... Until we reach ChatGPT, we have travelled a path that we need to know, because this will help us to better face both the ethical challenges and the challenges that the future holds.

Mankind has always dreamed of automata, but it was not until the Dartmouth Conference in 1956 that the official kick-off was given, naming this emerging technology artificial intelligence for the first time. Since then, the techniques of natural language processing, natural language recognition, artificial intelligence and artificial intelligence have been perfected.
natural language processing, pattern recognition and the fact that the machine is capable of reasoning and learning on its own, imitating the neural networks of the brain, to find a technology so similar to human thought that it even mimics it and blurs the boundary between reality and fiction.
Practical applications of AI are already everywhere: resources for students, tools for clinical diagnosis, health monitoring, virtual assistants in banking and transportation, StageCraft technology for movies and series, augmented reality in video games, and of course, ChatGPT, the personal assistant that has marked a before and after.
It is true that AI presents ethical challenges such as privacy, security and accountability of automated decisions or the fear of a possible out of control, issues that must be regulated with new legislation, but no one can stop progress and it will always be better to ally with it than to be left behind.
