About the author
Master Huangshi (? -195 BC), a native of Xiapi (present-day Pizhou City, Jiangsu Province), was a thinker and militarist in the Qin and Han Dynasties. In his early years, he hid in Xiapi to avoid war. He tested Zhang Liang three times, then granted him the "Art of War of Taigong", and he also assisted Liu Bang, the Gaozu of Han Dynasty, to get the throne. In the eighth year of Emperor Gao of Han Dynasty, he died. The Sushu and The Three Strategies of Master Huangshi were passed down to later generations.
