Author

Xing Lida
Associate Professor of China University of Geosciences (Beijing). A Young paleontologist and popular science writer. An honorary professor of Taipei City University, a deputy director of Tengchong Amber Research Center, and an explorer sponsored by National Geographic Society.
Xing obtained his master and doctor’s degrees in Paleontology from the University of Alberta (Canada) and the China University of Geosciences (Beijing) under the tutelage of dinosaur scholars, such as academician Philip J. Currie, a paleontologist, and researcher Xu Xing.
In 2016, he discovered the world's first dinosaur in amber. In 2017, he received the Silver Hammer Award of the 16th Youth Geoscience and Technology Award from the Chinese Geological Society. In 2018, he received the "Extraordinary Contributor" Award from the China Paleontology and Fossil Conservation Foundation.
On October 27, 2019, the 8th Pineapple Science Award announced that Xing's team won the Pineapple Science Award in Biology.
