Bon Balu is a commercial artist by trade and a creative director in brand development and communication based in Mullumbimby, NSW. She’s always written and illustrated and after many years of development, and after becoming a mother to two small boys, has decided to focus her stories and expressions into a world for kids. Bon Balu is that world, one that centres around happy habits and rituals. Bon Balu’s signature style is a mix of painterly, mid-century irreverence: bold design, wordplay, expressive characters, statement palettes, and hand-lettered type.
