Description
★The book contains vivid and imaginative illustrations by Vladimir Dovgalo!
Jonathan Swift (1667-1745) was an Anglo-Irish satirist, philosopher, poet and social activist. His most famous work is the satirical novel Gulliver's Travels, the first two parts of which were published in 1726 and were a huge success: it sold out within the first few months, followed by several editions .
The novel quickly became popular abroad. In 1772-1773, the book "Gulliver's Travels" was first published in Russia. It has won over famous writers such as Leo Tolstoy and Maxim Gorky. Later, the novel was translated and retold many times, and was adapted into children's books. The book tells the story of ship doctor Lemuel Gulliver who finds himself in Lilliput after a shipwreck, full of tiny people. They captured Gulliver and made him swear full obedience to them. After a miraculous escape from this strange land, Gulliver returns home, but soon a new adventure awaits him...
