Description

The Persecutor is one of Julio Cortázar's greatest literary achievements and a classic of 20th-century literature. With a masterfully treated existential background, the story describes the last days of Johnny Carter, virtuoso saxophonist whose life runs on the edge of lucidity and self-destruction.

Since its publication in 1959, this tribute by Cortázar to the great Charlie Parker has known the fervor of many readers, who have considered it, like Hopscotch, an initiatory experience. The great illustrator José Muñoz has been able to interpret with extraordinary talent the depth of this fiction where jazz, sleepless nights and the Paris of the 1950s are the setting for an incomparable story.
