What species really hides behind most of the cinnamon we consume? Did you know that the Antarctic carnation is able to withstand temperatures below fifty degrees or that there are mosses that are found in volcanoes with temperatures above sixty? Or that behind the ephemeral beauty of some flowers whose sizes, colors and smells have played a key role in their evolution hides a whole language of communication and survival mechanisms? ... Welcome to the secret world of plants.

Plants have been on Earth for hundreds of millions of years. What do they eat? What they feel? How they live? Discover through this book the exciting mechanisms that have allowed them to evolve and how they have influenced History and Culture.

This book is about plants, but it is not a treatise on botany. Together with its author, Rosa Porcel, @bioamara, we are going to take a journey through history to learn how they have influenced our culture, how they eat, how they live, how they relate and what mechanisms they have to defend themselves or adapt to the environment, concluding with the reproduction and origin of a new plant. All this accompanied by fun, fascinating and unknown events and anecdotes that masterfully weave human history and plant history together.
