Author

Silke Böschen was born in Bremerhaven. After a newspaper traineeship and studying journalism, she worked for many years as a television presenter on ARD. She was the face of the political magazine "Kontraste". Previously, she led – as the second woman ever – through the »ARD-Sportschau«. After working in Berlin and Frankfurt, she now lives with her family in Hamburg, where she is a television reporter. »Träume von Freiheit – Ferner Horizont« is her second novel after her successful debut »Träume von Freiheit – Flammen am Meer«. During her extensive research, Silke Böschen discovers long-forgotten stories from the 19th century in archives and old newspapers. In her new novel, she revives a dazzling chapter german-American history.
