Review

I am so impressed with the philosophy on excellence in education. Many teachers and parents think that excellence is about the academic field. But the author emphasizes that excellence should be global and holistic.
His involvement with our academy encourages us to carry out excellence education at its best.
Dr. Hashik Park, Headmaster of CNSA, Samsung Academy, Korea

Description

Why are the schools of today teaching the children of tomorrow about the world of yesterday?

The modern world boarded a supersonic train into the innovative 4.0 era, however schools were mostly left dragging far behind. Schools should not only be on the train zooming into the future – they should be the locomotive leading it!

The Future of Education is a revolutionary book which shows how similar the schools of today are to the long-ago schools of the past and offers a fascinating peek into an exciting and innovative school in the year 2050.

Hezki Arieli, an internationally renowned strategic educator, grants his readers a front-row seat to observe and experience the evolution of 'old schools' into Innovative, Creative, Excellent (I.C.E.) Learning Hubs. A practical, experiential, and detailed road map, presenting the rationale and action plans that will allow the education system to make a giant leap in all its components, bringing it back in the game and in line with the constantly changing, unknown world of the future.

This important book is intended for parents, educators, and anyone else who cares about the future of our children and the future of our world.

From the Author
For years I have been visiting schools around the world. From poor and primitive schools in the jungles to the most prestigious and modern schools in the most advanced countries. To my surprise, I have found that most schools, regardless of location, funds and quality of teachers, are very similar. Delivery of information, teaching for exams, recording and memory-oriented pedagogy, are the most common methodologies. 'Old school' styles, invented way back in the mid-19th century, are still serving as the standard in schools of our times.
For years I called for change and received a common response - why change? What was good for our grandparents is good enough for our children.
Fortunately, in recent years the prevailing response has shifted to - how can we change?
While most agree that change is needed, school staffs lack the knowhow and tools necessary to make the change and form advanced educational facilities revolving around the values of Innovation, Creativity and Excellence (I.C.E).
The COVID-19 pandemic is indeed a tragic and horrific event. But it is also a wonderful wake-up call and a window of opportunity for education systems across the globe. The pandemic demands that schools adapt to new realities, 'get in the game', and create a bottom-up reform in every facet of their routine.
This book aims to provide a comprehensive road map focusing on the WHAT and HOW of Future Education and Education for the Future.
