★Where do trunko, chupacabra and kraken live? What guards the griffin? Why were people afraid of foxes? How much poison does a two-headed snake have? This book is reminiscent of medieval bestiaries, alternating fantastic information about real-life animals with no less fantastic descriptions of fictional creatures and their habits. Since then, the knowledge of the world has stepped far forward, and yet the number of wonderful creatures is only increasing: in modern times, Nessie, Yeti, Tripodero and others have entered the company of the griffin, phoenix and basilisk.
★The author of the book, Ekaterina Stepanenko, collected a real dossier for each of the monsters, and the artist Paulya Plavinskaya painted their portraits, illustrated habits and habitats. In addition, interesting games and tasks are waiting on the readers' pages, and the world map at the beginning of the book will show where fantastic creatures live.

Description

From time immemorial people believed there are all kinds of wondrous creatures in faraway places. They fly in the air and swim deep in the ocean waters and hide in the mountains. Some of them are dangerous and some can bring you wealth and even eternal life.
Some have been hunted for hundreds of years and are still sought today. This book describes some of the bizarre creatures born by humankind’s fantasy: their habits and habitats and what science has to say about the possibility of their existence.
Here you will find unicorn and cockatice, dragon and kitsune, the kraken and the Nessie, tripodero and bigfoot and many others.
