This is a new tender series for very young children, written in simple rhyme. Pico and Lola are the main characters – two different but inseparable friends. Through their adventures they help children understand first concepts such as friendship, acceptance and collaboration, as well as developing their imagination.

[Author]Lina Sotiropoulou was born and grew up in Pyrgos, in the region of Elis in the Peloponnese. She studied accounting and in her current work she deals with numbers on a daily basis. One day, however, in her accounting books – which only lead to headaches – letters started appearing, and stories and fairy tales started being woven. That was how she decided to start writing books that bring smiles to children’s faces. Apart from Pico and Lola, she has published many other books with Metaichmio Publications.

[Illustrator]Natalia Kapatsoulia was born in Athens. Soon after that she made her first sketch – on one of her mother’s books. Since that was a naughty thing to do, she was soon given her first paint set: felt-tip pens and a sketch pad. She studied French Literature at the University of Athens. She taught French to children, which served to make her realise that she preferred drawing her pupils on the board – and the children felt the same. So she went to Spyros Ornerakis’ school and studied drawing and illustration. Now she lives in Cephalonia and illustrates children’s books with love and enthusiasm. She has been nominated twice for the State Illustration Prize and once for the Prize of Diavazo magazine.
