Description

»When I was a little boy I had a small, quiet bear, whose name was Sunday…« And so begins the story of a boy and his Sunday, the two as inseparable as boys and bears often are. But then one day doubts begin to trouble the boy. Does my bear love me as much as I do him? And is he really alive? He tries to coax some sign of life from the bear, chatting away to him, thinking it all through. And then one night he has a dream. In his dream, he lives with lots of other children in Mr. Teddy Bear’s shop, where big bears come to look for toys to give to their little bears. And where small boys, for example, wait on the shelves to be chosen by bear families and go out into the big wide bear world. And so it is that our little boy changes hands one day, becoming a birthday present for a bear named Sunday, who unwraps him excitedly, calls him Axel, plays with him, snuggles up with him in bed, and who loves him very, very much.

A poetic tale from the magical world of children and bears, somewhere between dream and reality, a little play on roles with enchanting illustrations by Michael Sowa.
